It's ok to add bottled water instead of plain faucet water in your tank, but don't use distilled or ionized water. Scrubbing your tank is the best way to get rid of algea. Algea can cause a problem in your Oceanic aquarium. When scrubbing your aquarium, it's recommended that you use soft scrubbing pads in order to avoid scratching your aquarium.

Avoid locating your aquarium near an air conditioner to help keep the water at a steady temperature. Where you locate your Oceanic aquarium can be important on cutting down on maintenance, particularly with algae. Don't put your fish tank near a window or where will be in direct sunlight.
